Trauma-Informed Workplace Training

Trauma-Informed Workplace Training for Teams and Leaders

In today’s high-stress work environments, trauma doesn't stay at the door. Whether it stems from personal history, systemic challenges, burnout, or high-pressure roles, unprocessed stress and trauma can impact employee wellbeing, team dynamics, and organizational success.

Yet most workplaces aren’t equipped to understand or respond to trauma. The result? Increased absenteeism, burnout, interpersonal tension, and staff turnover — often without clear explanations or solutions.

Trauma-informed workplace training offers a compassionate, evidence-informed framework for improving emotional safety, communication, and wellbeing across your organization. This isn't therapy in the workplace — it’s a shift in culture that empowers leaders and employees alike to work more sustainably, respectfully, and effectively.

Why Trauma-Informed Practice Matters in the Workplace

Trauma isn’t always obvious. It shows up as chronic stress, reactivity, withdrawal, difficulty with trust, or trouble regulating emotions. When left unaddressed, these patterns can create friction, reduce productivity, and harm team culture.

A trauma-informed workplace doesn't mean everyone shares their story — it means creating an environment where people feel safe, respected, and supported. It allows staff to show up fully, communicate more effectively, and thrive in their roles without burning out.

Benefits of a trauma-informed approach in corporate settings include:

  • Reduced stress and burnout

  • Improved psychological safety and team trust

  • Stronger communication and emotional regulation skills

  • Better support for employee mental health

  • Enhanced leadership confidence when navigating conflict or staff needs

  • Increased retention, morale, and overall productivity

My Approach to Corporate Trauma-Informed Training

After nearly 20 years in education, supporting over 700 schools in 75 countries, I’ve transitioned this work to the corporate world — where the same principles of safety, regulation, and connection make an equally powerful impact.

I’ve created trauma-informed training for teams, managers, HR professionals, and leadership groups to understand trauma, build emotional resilience, and embed trauma-sensitive practices into day-to-day culture.

These sessions aren’t about rehashing personal stories — they’re about understanding how stress and trauma show up at work, and what we can do to support ourselves and each other more effectively.
